Three cars stolen Monday have
been recovered, Chief of Police
Andy Anderson said today.
One of the cars, which was own-
ed by Dale Brown of 705 Kertoy
and was stolen from the Sears
Roebuck Co. parking lot, on West
Hickory was found abandoned on
church last summer and is now
studying at Southwestern Theolo-

Joe Peyton King Jr. of Dallas
pleaded guilty of driving while in-
toxicated and was flnod ISO and
sentenced to three days in jail by
Denton County Judge W. K. Bal-
Earlier, King's bond had boon
forfeited because he failed to ap-
pear in court. The bond forfeiture
was canceled when King voluntari-
ly appeared in court Tuesday.
In another cast, William Thom
as Tate Jr. of Dallas withdrew
his appeal for speeding. He had

R. A. Scott of Houston: one daugh-
ter. Mrs. A. B. Brooks of Amaril-
lo: 12 grandchildren. 23 great

Mrs. F. J. Harris
Mrs F. J. Harris, 88, of 1080
Oakland, died today at 12:48 a.m
at Flow Memorial Hospital. She
had been ill for about a year.
Mrs. Harris was a bookkeeper
for the Borden Co. in Waco be-
fore moving to Denton about eight
years ago. She was preceded in
death by her husband who was
manager of the Borden Co. in Den-
ton until his death in 1864. The
couple moved to Denton in 1862.
Mrs. Harris was born st Waco
June 21, 1881. She was a member
of Denton's Immaculate Concep-
tion Catholic Church where she
was active in the Altar Society.
She la survived by a sister, Mrs.
Ollie Mann of Phoenix, Aris., and
a brother, Robb S. Ashburn of
Denton.
Rosary will be reed at 7 p.m.
Thursday in the Schmitt-Floyd-
Hamlett Funeral Home Chapel in
Denton by the Rev. Joseph M.
Thomas. Mass will be celebrated
Friday morning at the Waco Im-
maculate Conception Catholic
Church. Interment will be in
Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

principel of the Argyle School.
He succeeds Jerry Graham, who
resigned to become principal of
the West Oso Elementary School
near Corpus Christi.
Elam was given a five - year
contract by the Argyle Board of
Education. He received his BS
and MA degrees in school admin-
istration and was with the Me-
gargel school district of Archer
County from 1947-1956. He has
been out of the teaching profession
the past four years
Elam will continue to live in
Irving as his wife teaches in the
Dallas School system.
