The regular meeting of the
Parish Women’s Board at Sweet
Home Catholic church met at the
rectory on Tuesday, Sept. 21st
at 7:30p.m. with Rev. BUy leading
the group in prayer.
Mrs. Buxkemper presided at
the meeting and minutes were
read by Mrs. Adele Robinson.
The officers gave their usual
reports and two guests were
welcomed, namely Mrs. Mary
Hermes and Mrs. Joyce
Klimitchek.
The officers reported on the
ACCW Board meeting which was
held in San Antonio recently. The
meeting adjourned and Miss
Lillie Bily served delicious pecan
pie and coffee to the group.
DEANERY MEETING
The Council of Catholic Women
of the Hallettsville Deanery held
their semi-annual meeting in the
Queen of Peace parish at Sweet
Home Firemen’s Hall on Sunday,
Oct. 3rd Registration began at
1:30 p.m. with about 50 ladies
registering. The hall was beauti-
fully decorated with seasonal
flowers and greenery and a statue
of the Blessed Mother.
Rev. Bily led the group in a
prayer in opening the meeting.
The Deanery president, Mrs. Ada
Sladek, presided. Mrs. Justine
Buxkemper welcomed all to Sweet
Home. The roll was called by
Mrs. Sladek and the treasurer’s
report was given by Mrs. Eugene
Chalupka. Mrs. Hermes of
Koerth gave an interesting report
from the ACCW Board meeting.

HUNTSVILLE - Vickie Ann
Weiser, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. E. V. Weiser of Yoakum,
has been initiated into the Chi
Omega sorority at Sam Houston ■
State University.
Miss Weiser was one of 62
co-eds initiated this fall into
six sororities.
Nominees must complete
requirements established by each
sorority before they are accepted
and initiated. Selection is
regulated by the National
Panhellenic Association.

Thursday, Oct. 7th for their
monthly meeting at the home of
Mrs. Joe Netardus.
President Margaret Brzoz-
owski opened the meeting with
the Act of Consecration and the
Junior pledge and the pledge to
the Flag.
Secretary Linda Macha read
the minutes of the previous
meeting. A thank you note from
Mrs. Netardus and Kathy and her
family was read, thanking the
Troop and Counselor , Mrs.
Brzozowski for the Mass offering
for her late father end grand-
tether.
We also decided to have three
pets which will be visited by the
girls each month or whenever
possible.
Christmas tray favors will be
made for the hospital and nursing
homes and these will be
discussed.
The Counselors reminded the
girls about the Sweets and
Sweaters and each girl is to give
a sweater to be mailed to the
National office. Also all were
reminded of the initiation Wed.,
Oct. 13th at 4 p.m. atst. Joseph’s
Gym. Full uniforms are to be
worn. All the girls will help
clean tables for the PTC
Halloween Carnival on Saturday
night, Oct. 30th at the school
gym.
The girls worked on posters
publicizing the Halloween Car-
nival and ten of these were made.
They will also distribute the
posters around town in different
business places.
Peggy Wenzel served refresh-
ments of brownies, chips, pickles
and sodawater to the following:
