Board of review for the Rusk
County Boy Scout council will
themselves into a false feeling of ,
security by being alert to the ac- 1
tions of others. Facta developed
by our statistics show that over I
half of the drivers .involved in
fatal accidents would have avoid-

as much thought to their own ac- |

The event calls for the contes-
tant to be sure-footed enough to
handle the half-ton of dynamite
on hoof when he throws the steer
by roping. The trick is to rope the
steer by the horns and then toss
the rope to one side to trip the
animal. A lunge of the mount
and,if it works, the lariat has
caught the steer's four feet and
whipped them skyward. Then the
cowboy leaps from his horse and
| tackles the rolling, twisting mad-
dened mass of raging beefsteak
and if the contestant is lucky, he
gets the animal tied before be-
ing struck by a flying hoof.
The two eontesttnta, Weir, 52.
and Crosby, 46, have thrilled
thousands on the Rodeo circuits
for the last 30 years, appearing I
in arenas from Pendleton, Ore.,
and Cheyenne, Wyo., to Fort
Worth, Tex., and New York City.

SAN PEDRO, Calif. (UP) —
Doris Duke Cromwell, heiress to
a tobacco fortune, was sailing
back to Honolulu Saturday, hav-
ing "permanently separated" from
her husband, James H. R. Crom-
well.
Mrs. Cromwell, accompanied I
only by her personal maid, board-
ed the liner Matsonia last night
15 minutes before it sailed.
"It’s very simple,” she said,
“I've separated from my husband. ,
It’s a permanent separation. I
have no plans'for the future.”
She said that they had been
estranged “four or five months,”
and that she last had seen him
on June 4, his birthday.
She said it was a "great pity”
her husband lost last Tuesday in
the race for the Democratic Sen- I
atorship from New Jersey.
Mrs. Cromwell did not know
how' long she would remain in
Honolulu, where she has a man-
sion.
