You’ll probably be using your fireplace and
woodstove more than usual during the upcoming
Holiday Season. For safety 's sake have your
chimney inspected and cleaned by a professional
chimney sweep before you settle down in front of
that cozy fire. Protect your family, home and
property against the ravages of a chimney fire.
Santa will appreciate it, too!

scholarships to FFA students
Indianapolis, Ind.,-The Ford Motor Company is proud to once again be
the largest sponsor of the National FFA Scholarship Program. Ford and its
dealers will award $405,000 in scholarships to FFA members across the
country for the 2001-2002 school year. This is the fourth year of the Ford
Truck/FFA Scholarship Program, which has awarded over $800,000 to FFA
members since 1997.
The scholarship program is a cooperative effort between Ford Motor
Company Fund and participating local Ford dealers. FFA members may
apply for one of the 405 Ford Truck scholarships through a special Ford
Truck scholarship application (available from any participating dealer or
local FFA advisors), the national FFA scholarship application (available
from local FFA advisors) or online at www.ffa.org. For a list of participat-
ing dealers, log onto www.ffa.org/activities/schappOI.
As a special incentive for the scholarship program, Ford is providing a
brand-new Super Duty F-250 pickup to FFA, which will be awarded to a
local FFA chapter. For details on this exciting opportunity, contact the local
FFA advisor.
"For more than 50 years, Ford Motor Company has proudly supported
FFA. And for more than 50 years, people all over America have been put-
ting Ford F-Series trucks to work," said Al Giombetti, Ford Division
Truck/SUV Group Marketing Manager. "We are proud to team up with our
dealers to sponsor this scholarship program to benefit FFA-a group that
works every bit as hard as our trucks do." Participating Ford dealers will
award the scholarships to FFA members in their local trade areas in the
spring of 2001.
The National FFA Scholarship Program will award approximately
$2,000,000 in scholarships this year. Last year, corporate sponsors provid-
ed funds for 1,600 scholarships and one out of every four students who
applied received one.
FFA is a national youth organization of 455,306 student members
preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technolo-
gy of agriculture with 7,226 local chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and
the Virgin Islands. FFA strives to make a positive difference in the lives of
students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal
growth and career success through agricultural education. Visit
www.ffa.org for more information.
