The December meeting for the Itasca Garden
Club was held in the home of Pat Gibbons. Mrs.
Gibbons along with co-hostesses Maria Wood,
Felicia Coleman and Pat Hines provided a lovely
Christmas luncheon.
Members participated in providing salads and
desserts for the festive occasion. A Christmas Gift
Exchange was an enjoyable ending for the annual

The January meeting of the Hill County Genealogical So-
ciety (HCGS) has been moved to Monday, January 9, due to
the New Year’s Day holiday. The group will meet at the Hill
County Courthouse Annex, 126 South Covington Street, in
Hillsboro, Texas at 6:30 p.m.
“Assisting with disaster relief on the Texas Gulf Coast”
will be discussed by members of the Hillsboro Fire Depart-
ment, according to Cleo Davis, HCGS vice president and
program chairman. Several Hillsboro firemen will speak
about their experiences on the Texas coast in Orange and
Galveston areas after the recent hurricanes.
It should be an interesting and informative program, and
the public is invited to attend.
