expected, a big crowd was on hand to hear the featured entertainment of the Jeff Allen Band (pic-
tured above) along with the music of Ryan Hurt and Friends, Grandview Idol Contestants,
Amanda Rollins who sang the National Anthem and of course the always amazing performance
by the ZZ Skippers. There were many organizations set up selling food and offering fun things
to do. The Grandview Volunteer Fire Department had a dunking booth where Sergeant Eakin of
the Grandview Police Department received his fair share of dunking. The Chamber would like

Grandview - On June 28, 2008 a crowd of around 70 was on hand to join in the dedication cer-
emony of the new Grandview Cemetery Pavilion. The construction of the Grandview Pavilion
was made possible by the children of Kermit and Frances Basham in their honor and memory.
The proposed blueprint drawn up by Jimmy Ned Wallace and the location was approved by the
family. Thus in the summer of 2007, construction began with Hoby Hughes in charge. Due to
a lot of rain, the construction slowed down considerably and did not get finished until the win-
ter of 2008. It is with gratitude and pride, the City of Grandview and the Grandview Cemetery
Association dedicate this beautiful pavilion. Please see BJ’s Corner on page 2 for complete
detail of the dedication and see page 6 for more photos.
