It really wasn’t that big of a deal

■ like faith.
The Bible tells us many times
to trust the Lord. In fact, the
word “trust” is used 89 times in
the Bible. Psalm 3:5 & 6 tells us
to “Trust in the Lord with all
your heart; do not depend on
your own understanding. Seek
his will in all you do, and he will
direct your paths. ”
Dad would unfold the fish
shack, light up the propane
heater and auger a few holes to
fish in. Then he’d put the poles
down into the ice water and we’d
all get a bucket to sit on as we
waited for a fish to nibble the
lure. I always thought it was fas-
cinating when I could look down
the holes and see a lot of fish
swimming around. There was
always plenty of fish, but the
trick was to get them to bite at
our lures!
In Psalm 40:4 it tells us
“Blessed is the man who makes
the Lord his trust” and in 31:14
“But I trust in you, O Lord” 1
say, “You are my God. ”
When life around you starts
to crumble and you feel like the
ice is cracking out from under
your feet - stop and put your full
trust in the Lord. The Word tells
us that we are “blessed” if we
trust in Him. God is not your
“good luck lure”, but He is your

First he’d gather the short

I distinctly remember hearing
