wanted to develop him as a player. I know it was
frustrating for Tyler at the time to have minimal play
lime in Varsity games and then return to the JV level.
However, as coaches we knew of his potential”
explains Varsity Head Coach. Casey Walraven.
Hard work and determination would lead Fauver to
start on both sides of the ball his junior year. This
conviction is not only displayed on the field but in
the classroom as well. Tyler is ranked 21 out of 89
in Grandview’s class of 2015 with a GPA of 3.3 and
was recently inducted in the National Honor Society.
“Tyler is a perfect example that hard work pays off.
He is a capable player who anticipates getting the
ball. Zach and he have what it takes to connect. As
a quarterback you really have to trust and it just
works for Zach to get the ball to Tyler” slates
Walraven. The colligate recruitment process began

and I am deeply honored to be your next governor.”
Greg Abbott’s 2014 Victory Speech:
Thank you. Texas! The people of Texas have spoken and I am deeply
honored to be your next governor.
Earlier tonight I received a call from Senator Davis congratulating me
on the victory. I thanked her. And I told her what I want to tell you.
Whether you voted for me. against me or not at all, I will work every
day to make Texas the best state in the United Slates of America.
I'm proud to have by my side my wife of 33 years who will make his-
tory as the first Hispanic First Lady of Texas - Cecilia Abbott! We are
so proud of our teenage daughter, Audrey. I see through her eyes the
promise of the next generation of Texans.
Tonight, Texans sent a message. You voted for hope over fear - for
unity over division. For the majesty of what Texas is and what it can be.
As Texans, the bond we share transcend our differences. We all want to
live in safer communities, to have greater opportunities and to give all
of our children lives worthy of their promise.
I amliving proof that we live in a state where a young man’s life can
literally be broken in half and yet he can still rise up and be governor

that provides that brand of opportunity for every Texan.
As governor, I will build a better future for the next generation.
Nothing is more important than providing our children the education
they need to compete for the jobs of tomorrow. The opportunity to suc-
ceed should not be confined to a certain side of town. It is the birthright
of every Texas child. I want our schools to be the best in America.
There are no second-class dreams and there should be no second-rate
schools.
As governor, I will keep Texas number one in the nation for creating
jobs. We will do that by keeping government small, by lowering the tax
burden and by reducing regulations. Contrary to what some people say.
businesses do in fact create jobs.
Texas understands that government is supposed to be the servant of
the people - not the other way around. As governor. I will ensure we
keep that priority straight.
And as governor. I will do what the federal government has failed to
do. I will secure our border and enforce the rule of law.
Now more than ever it is time for Texans to unite to achieve these
goals. Because as Texas goes, so goes America.. .and as America goes,
so goes the world. Now more than ever we must show that Texas-style
conservative leadership provides real solutions to problems Texans
face. Belter schools, safer communities and more opportunity for all.
These priorities are bigger than any political party because we are
Texans first. And as governor I will put Texas first.
I want to thank so many people for making tonight possible. We
wouldn’t be here without the hard work of countless Texans. I especial-
ly want to thank my brother, Gary, a 20-year Navy veteran, my sister-
in-law. Rosie and the most famous mother-in-law in Texas.
I want to thank the best group of volunteers I have ever seen. Thank
you for making just one more call, for walking just one more block and
for knocking on just one more door.
Thanks also to the best campaign team in the history of Texas poli-
tics. Most importantly. I want to thank my fellow Texans. During the
past year, I’ve been able to meet so many of you, shake your hands,
give you a hug, look you in the eye and talk about our shared concerns
and visions for Texas.
Tonight, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we go to work. Together, we will
keep Texas the beacon of opportunity and the best state in the United
States of America. May God bless us in our efforts. And may God
