1963 TRAFFIC DEATHS
SHOW BIG INCREASE
The Texas Department of
Public Safety reported today
that a preliminary count of
traffic deaths in the state for
1963 shows that 2,703 per-
sons were killed-by far the •
greatest toll in history.
Col. Homer Garrison, Jr.,
DPS director, noted that this
means 282 more persons died
with toothpick to outside cu-
