We were more interested in the
Antique stores, which this town of
Boaz, had several.
We left the town of Boaz and
started on our way back down into
Mississippi, following the Natchez
Trace Trail. We had traveled on
this before and it is a pleasant
getaway from the heavy traffic.
The towns of Mississippi still
grow lots of cotton and through one
area a man by the name of B.C.
Rogers has most of the business
sewed up by poultry factories. I
would say that about 100 miles of
this area around Foust, Mississippi,
was mostly the Rogers poultry
business. We were on our way to
Natchez, Mississippi, to visit old
plantation homes and arrived there
on Friday. We spent the whole day
in Natchez and enjoyed this greatly.
We visited the oldest plantation in
this area built in 1791, the
Springfield. It was the home of
Andrew Jackson. The owner and
curator of this home lived there and
he told us the history of this house

The week of October 18th to
the 23rd my husband and I decided
we would take sometime off to
travel on a trip. Our destination
was Albertsville, Alabama. We left
on Monday morning in great
spirits, with the weather being the
best. We made it to Vicksburg,
Mississippi on Monday night and
spent the night there. We left
there early for we had at another
time seen the sights and visited this
city. On Tuesday evening we drove
into Bessemer, Alabama.
Birmingham, which is close to
Bessemer, offered some sights to
see so we drove into this area to
visit the Tannehille Historical Park.
We got to see some of this park,
but the main part was closed, so we
did not enjoy, this. We spent the
night in Bessemer, and the next
morning we decided to leave early.
Somehow or another we made a
wrong turn and of course got lost in
guess where - in the worst part of
town in Birmington. We drove
around it seemed for hours until we

Located in this town is one of the
largest outlet shopping malls in the
nation. It is compared to the one in
Minnesota. This one in Boaz has
242 shops. It attracts shoppers

we were told that people come and

Christmas. One person told usthat

takes several days to shop in all the
stores. We did drive around and
