That unexpected cold snap won't catch you un
pared. There’ll be no danger of a frozen radiator
a cracked water jacket. If you keep your car inl
unheated garage you won’t have to ‘‘drain the Wil
off" each night. And there isn’t a chance that yo
ever be "frozen up" on a dark road—waiting for so
one to come along and tow you home.

Statistics show that a large per-
centage of university student* earn
all or part of their expenses, while
the number of athletes who work
their way through school is higher
than among any other group. The
boys use many and novel methods
to drag in the ducat*.
Blue Smith, the noted (ide-step-
per, runs a hamburger stand for
his livlihood, and is proving to be
as good a'merchant as he is ah oth-
lete.
Matt Newell, regular end, works
in a local drug store, and also
waits on tables at a boarding
house. Other “hashers" on the
squad include Lester Settegast and
Hubert Foster.
Vernon Sehuardt, who taught
school last year that he might earn
enough money to represent his
school on the gridiron this year,
is working in the equipment room
of the university athletic depart-
ment.
Several of the athletes do jani-
tor work around tha university, in-
during Harry Pfannkuche, Murray
Moore, Sailor Shearer, Clint Slover
and Dewey Smalley.

"The nonobservance of the Sab-
bath is becoming universal,"’ de-
clared the mayor. "I suppose it is
absolutely necessary for some
forms of building work to proceed
on Sunday but there is much un-
hecessary work going on. I am
just old fashioned enough to be-
lieve that Sunday should be ob-
served. I do not believe the Lord
will bless any unnecessary work
that is done on Sunday.
'1 As far as I am concerned I
would not think of going to a
theater on Sunday but I understand
Sunday is their biggest day. I
would not be in favor of closing
the shows, though, for if any one
else cares to go it is none of my
business."
