been badly damaged from dry and
cold weather in the west and the
acreage may be cut materially on
this account, though some think

PROMINENT GLEN ROSE
MAN DIES SUDDENLY
Glen Rose and Somervell county
lost one of our most popular and
highly respected citizens Tuesday
when John Shields passed away at
5 o’clock from an .attack of ap-
poplexy, and paralysis which occur
red at about 2:30 or 3 o’clock the

daughter of W. T. Rive Md wife,
of Nemo died Tuesday night after
an illnees of three weeks. Miss
Avis was the granddaughter of
Aaron Mantooth and wife, and her
mother grew to womanhood in Glen
Rose, where the family has many
friends. In the home community
she was a favorite among the
younger set, was loved by her eld-
ers for her lovable dispositiou and
kindly ways. Burial was at White
church Thursday evening at 3

ous friend who deeply sympathize
