scriptures read by the pastor, W. R.
Vivrett Jr., during the discusston,
Tyndall showed that in the Biblical
meaning adultery and fornication
‘ need not be physical Seve reasons
were given for divorce and seven
. rights to re-marry, while seven dif-
ferent kinds of adultery and forni-
I cation were given. Physical adultery
I is meant in Exodus 20:14. while
1 other meanings presented were, de-
parting from the Lord, Ezekiel 4:4;
[ keeping bad company, Ezeklel 23:-
M; idolatry, Ezekiel 33:37; lust tn
I the heart, Matthew 8:27-24; spirit-
I ual adultery. Second Corinthians
I 11:2, and Revelation 18:3; selling
I one's birthright. Hebrews 12:14-17.
In citing the action of God in giv-
I ingabilof divorcement to Israel,
I Jeremiah 3:4, Tyndall drew an
I analogy betwem the relationship
I of Christ and the Church, and God
I and Israel. Like as Christ was mar-
I ried to the Church, so was God
I married to Israel. Tyndall showed
I that because Israel was untrue to
| God and had been adulterous, God
I divorced her. In Jeremiah 3:14 is
I given God's marriage to Israel.
I Seven passages were read au-
I thorizing divorce, and others giv-
I Ing rights to re-marry, Tyhdall em-
I phasizing the fact that often the
I fault is in the marriage rather
I than in the divorce. He stated that
I a marriage of a Christian and a
I non-Christian is against the laws of
I God and the Bible, and that no
I lasting happiness is to be expected
B from such a union. ,
I “Miraculous Healing"
I In his talk on “Miraculous Heal-
■ ing" Tyndal stated that the Holy
■ Spirit has been manifested in four
■ degrees. Christ received the Holy
■ Spirit without measure, John 3:3;
■ the apostles received it by baptism,
I Acts 3:1-14; the laying on of hafids
I was found for example in First Cor-
■ inthians 13:8-11; and those who
■ obey the gospel receive the gift of
■ the Holy Spirit as in Acts 2 M When
■ those who were baptised with the
■ Holy spirit passed away no others
bossessed their same powere,- nor
Mcould any special"girks‛be imparte
■ by the laying on of hands after
■ their death, he said.
■ In Micah 1:18 was the prophecy
■ that after a number of years when
Eno more miraculous deeds could be
■ done by the Holy Spirit, and that
■ Paul and John, the two apostles llv-
■ lug after that time and who before
Ehad healed the sick and raised the
■ dead, could no more do these things
EBible statement to that mireulous
■ works could be done by evil spirits
■ are to be found In First Samual 18:
■ 14; Matthews 24:24; Mark 13 22
■Matthew 7:21-23
■ The power of evil spirits in this
■day and time has never equaled the
■power of God or the Holy Spirit.
