—Billy Gene McDonald. 18. of Con-
cord. Tex.+. died IB" a Greenville
hospital early today from burns
received when flames from a bias-
ing butane gas truck trapped him
and four other persons in their
cars last night two miles south
of here.
In a critical condition was Mrs.

has imposed a 75 per cent tax on
the estimated earnings of all mo-
tion pictures imported into the
country
Prime Minister Attlee said only
25 per cent of the films’ earnin«s
would be remitted abroad. The
treasury disclosed-tonight that the
other 75 per cent would be taken
as duty rather than impounded in
sterling accounts, as some com-
panies had expected

THREE DENTON MEN
ON NAVAL CRUISE
Three Denton Navy men. Billie
J. Burns, storekeeper third class.
Benny E. Burdette, apprentice
seaman, and Leslie 8. Harding, ap-
prentice seaman, are participating
in a two-week Naval reserve train-
ing cruise in the Caribbean area
The former two are serving
aboard the destroyer USS Ault,
and Seaman Harding is serving
aboard the USS Wallace L. Lind.
On these training cruises. gun-
nery drills, battle problems, and
lectures axe given to refresh the
reservists’ previous training and
acquaint them With the latest de-
velopments in Naval equipment
reduce the hazard, Morris said th.
