The play, with a large cast of
36, is a good one to Show off the
possibilities of the auditorium. A
trap door built into the stage was
used for the disappearance into
the Paris sewers of players re-
presenting evil. A large set was
used on the big stage.
A rather long play, it was slow
in getting off the ground. But
that’s probably the fault of the
play rather than the players. “Mad-
woman” broke a longstanding
TWU tradition of no curtain calls
and the audience seemed to ap-
preciate a chance to applaud their
favorites.
