The Jay Class of the Baptist
Church met at the annex Thurs-
day night for a Christmas pro-
gram and gift exchange. Thir-
teen were present for the festive
event. Mrs. E. O. Slaughter was
a guest and brought the beauti-
ful Christmas story, which was
enjoyed by all. Boxes were filled
for some of the shut-ins of the
town.

Buried Monday
Funeral services were held at
the Culleoka Baptist Church
Monday morning for Jack Dan-
iel White, 34, who died Dec. 16
in Tuscon, Ariz. Burial was in
Thompson Cemetery with Tur-
rentine-Jackson Funeral Direct-
ors in charge.
White was a native of this co-
unty having been born at Cull-
eoka.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs.
B. M. White, Dallas; four broth-
ers, Woodrow White, Austin,
Durwood White and Cecil White,

and fellowship were held at the
Methodist Church Sunday eve-
ning with pastors from the four
Anna churches participating as
follows: Rev. Robert Owens,
pastor of the Christian Church;
Rev. Don Jopling, pastor of Bap-
tist Church; Rev. Leonard Craw-
ford of the Church of Jesus
Christ and Rev. Carl Williamson
of the Methodist Church. An
hour of fellowship was held at
the Baptist Church following the
program at the Methodist
Church.

W. Powell funeral.
Rev. and Mrs. Don Jopling had
the pleasure of having his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Jopling
of Ft. Worth and also his grand-
mother in their home over the
week-end at which time they en-
joyed -a gift exchange. Rev. and
Mrs. Jopling will go to Ft. Worth
Christmas day where they will
be guests of her mother, Mrs.
Ethel Culp.

spend the holidays with rela-
tives. Among some of these are
Mr. and Mrs. Hamp Rattan and
son of Brownfield, who will be
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dow Rat-
tan, M. L. Vermillion and others,
Jimmie Rattan of the U. S. Na-
val Academy at Annapolis,
Maryland, will spend about two
weeks with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. L. Rattan, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack McCollum of Ft. Worth are
here with his mother, Mrs. Lillie
McCollum and others.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pruden
honored the freshman • class of
the high school with a Christmas
dinner Thursday evening. Ten
members of the class and one of
the class mothers, Mrs. Harry
Drury, were present for the de-
lightful affair. Mrs. W. O. Clark
and Mrs. Owen Dickerson, the
other two class mothers, were
unable to attend.
Bobby Lair, Clayton Jones,
Joyce Barton and Martha Lus-
comb of NTSC, Bobby Ray Ren-
fro of the Armed Forces at San
Antonio, Misses Jan Shirley,
Miss Lorraine Shirley and Vir-
gil Miller of TCU are among
those spending the holidays here
with relatives. Also Albert
Phipps of the Armed Forces is
home for the holidays with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Phipps.
