tended funeral services for Mrs.
Hooper’s father, Mr. J. H.
Bridges. Mr. Bridges was a resi-
dent of Collin County for some
60 years. He resided at Forest
Grove for 15 years before mov-
ing to California in 1937. He was
82 years of age at the time of his
death. He leaves eleven children,
36 grandchildren and -9 great-
grandchildren. His wife passed
away in 1950.

stepped in to J. D. Griffin’s office
"for a short visit. “Dude” as he
is familiarly known, seems to
have regained his health after
suffering a severe heart attack
last November. He was away
from • his work for about three
months. But now he is going
again as usual. He is an expert
car salesman, and knows his au-
tomobiles. Drop in to see him,

1 ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. George W. Eastes
I of Wylie, married sixty years on
| Sunday, April 26, celebrated the
I occasion with an open house at
a their home.
I Mr. and Mrs. Eastes were mar-
| ried in Garland on April 26,
I 1899, at the home of Rev. Cole,
I then pastor of the First Christian
| Church there.
| Mr. Eastes was born about four
j miles southwest of Wylie on the
| old Eastes homeplace and re-

• around Wylie before the town
was established in the 1880’s.
Mrs. Eastes was born in Alamo,
Tenn., and after finishing school
there, came to Texas and taught
for a couple of years. She then
returned to Tennessee where she
taught two terms before coming-
back to Texas to be married on
the April 26 date, sixty years
ago.
The couple are the parents of
nine children, two of whom have
passed away. The seven living-
children are as follows:
