It’s Wildflower Month
Mayor Wes Fisher and representatives
from the Bud to Blossom Garden Club
declared April as Wildflower Month in
Hereford with an informal seed-
scattering ceremony Friday at Golden
Plains Nursing Home. The club donated a
half-pound of seed to the home for plan-
ting a small plot with wildflowers. Sowing
Stan had any such feelings. I told him prised that the friendship is in ashes?
I was in love with my husband and You’re the one who lit the match.
A few weeks ago Stan came for the were such great friends. What can I

in our city and stayed with us. When to smooth things over but was told
my husband was out doing a chore, never to bring up Stan’s name again.
Stan suddenly confessed that he had I’m surprised at my husband’s

The next day Stan left and I told

Fuhrman, conservation chairman;
Naoma Spann, club president and Wilma
Bryan, civic achievement chairman. The
club is seeking to practice soil conserva-
tion and to make Hereford known for
wildflowers by planting seed in vacant
lots and public right-of-ways.
Being in the business, I have heard
that some complaint from dozens of
people who are burned up because
they lost their dimes and quarters.
We receive numerous calls every
day about machines that are jamm-
ed. Almost always when we go to
check out the machine we discover
that it functions perfectly.
The reason the public perceives
the machine to be out of order is that
people never want to take the first
paper on the stack. They seem
always to prefer the third paper
down. (They say it "looks fresher.”)
The two top papers then shift, caus-
ing the door to close ajar. Unless the
next patron pushes the door in before
right thing to do. He didn’t react at
first, just said, “Gee, I never thought
Stan would pull anything like that.
He always seemed like such a true
friend.” I thought that would be the
end of it. I was wrong.
ed on him. Forget the patchjob. It
will never happen.
Are drugs OK if you learn how to
control them? Can they be of help?
The answers are in Ann Landers all-
new booklet, “The Low down on
Dope.” For each booklet ordered,
sene $2.00 plus a long, self-
addressed, stamped enveloe (39
cents postage) to Ann Landers, P.O.
