By Love Set Free”. a feature mo-
tion pictured based on the true story
of a young American's imprisonment
in a South American country, will be
shown at 7 p Sunday at the church.
The movie will be shown free of
charge to the public.
' By Love Set Free” is the
dramatic account of a searcher
Gwynn Lewis, the young man who
actually lived the story said. "I was
searching for a simpler life, cheaper
drugs, and. if possible, a chance for
happiness."
It was that search which led Lewis
and his girl friend. Pooka, to leave
their comfortable middle-class lives
in the United States to adopt a
poverty-level existence in South
America There, they indeed met
their goals of a simpler life and
cheaper drugs
But they found that happiness was
much more elusive. Arrested on a
drug charge, Lewis was thrown into
an overcrowded prison, where he
underwent severe and inhuman tor-
tures
Pooka immediately began working
for his release, but, after several
months, discovered that the
unscrupulous lawyer she had hired
had done little if anything to aid in
securing Gwynn’s release
A missionary to that area who had
learned through family friends of
Gwynn and Pooka's plight stepped
into the picture and began working
with them, giving of his tune, his
friendship, and his prayers That in-
volvement is credited with changing
the liv es of this struggling young cou-
ple
By Love Set Free" is a hearten-
ing story of how compassionate love
and concern can not only touch one
couple, but can also reach out to
others at the same time here is a
story of an entire family affected by
one man's Christian commitment It
is a film that offers renewed hope to
anyone who believes that things
can't be changed for the better
through prayer and personal involve-
ment.
