To All Members,
Galveston Artillery Club.
Gentlemen:
The name of Mr. Robert Cone proposed by Mr. Harry Black and seconded
by Mr. Henry W. Atherton, has been proposed for membership in the
Galveston Artillery Club, and his application has been approved by
the Secret Membership Committee.

Section 2 of Article VI of the By-Laws of the Club provides as fol-
lows:
"Applications when received by the Secretary shall be first
referred to the Membership Committee, which is appointed by the
President of this Club annually, and is secret, and in the event
such applications are approved by such Membership Committee, the
President shall cause same to be circularized by mail to all RESIDENT
MEMBERS. In the two-week period thereafter any member of this Club
desiring to protest the applicant, shall make such protest known to
the President of the Club, who shall in turn bring such application
and the protest thereon before the Board of Directors for discussion
and decision. The name of the protesting member and the reason for
said protest is not to be made known to any other person other than
said Board of Directors. If the decision of the Board of Directors
be unanimous in favor of the applicant, the applicant shall then be
notified that his application has been approved, and that he has been
placed on the waiting list for membership in the Club."
In the event that any member desires to protest the application he
must notify the President within two weeks from the date of this
letter.
