October 20, 1951 tar. William A. Nathan Houston Bank & Trust Building Houston 2, Texas Dear !r. Nathan: I have yours of the 18th. I have not the slightest recollection of the incident to which you refer, but I am writing today about the matter and hope to get it solved on the basis of a sympathetic rather than a punitive attitude. With reference to the proposed structure for the hillel Foundation at College Station, I am not prepared at the moment to respond favorably to your request to add my name to the list of those who were anxious to put this program over. Between federal taxation, community, charitable and religious requests, I do not feel at the moment that 1 would like to be committed to any additional pledges however worthy the cause. Yours very truly,
Kempner, Isaac H. (Isaac Herbert), 1873-1967.[Letter from I. H. Kempner to Mr. William M. Nathan, October 20, 1951],
