The Juniorette 4-H Club cli-
maxed its summer’s work with a
family picnic, followed by a pro-
gram Tuesday night, Aug. 21, at
7 p.m. at the Club House. Mmes.
J. L. Case, Cecil Culver, Jr., Jack
West, and Carl Homer were host-
esses for the picnic, furnishing the
plates, drinks, and watermelons.
At 8:30 o’clock the program be-
gan with a dress revue conducted
by Glyn da Harrell and Ellen Lat-
ta with Shirley West, Judy Case,
and Nina Snyder, modeling blue
ribbon skirts that they had made,
and Bonnie Terbush, Alice West,
Sandra Clark, and Margie Fraser
modeling red ribbon skirts. Skirts
made by Donna Smith and Melva
Asberry also won blue ribbons, al-
though the girls were not present.
Shirley West, song leader, as-
sisted by Alice, led the group in
singing several songs. A health
program, entitled “The Texas
Food Standard,” was presented in
the form of a flannel board talk
by Ellen Latta, assisted by 11 club
members. Bonnie Terbush led the
club in the ritual service. The'
last number was “The 4-H’s,” a
skit giving the meaning of the
club emblem, based on Luke 2:52,
conducted by Glynda Harrell, us-
ing all of the members. Girls not
previously mentioned who had
parts on the program were Mary
Kay Johnson, Pam Culver, Judy
Case, Louise Terbush, and Janice
Corbin.
Sandra Clark, as president, con-
cluded the program with a speech
of thanks. Several of the girls
made an exhibit of their work.
Those present were Mrs. Janie
Fletcher, county home demonstra-
tion agent, of Panhandle, Mrs.
Frances Corbin, Johnny and Jan-
ice, Margie Emery, Mrs. Elton
Johnson of McLean, Mrs. Shirley
Johnston, Jackie and Mike of Eu-
nice, N.M., Mr. and Mrs. Sanford
Johnson and Mary Kay, Mrs. Wal-
ter Fraser and Margie, Mr. and
Mrs. R. A. Snyder and Nina, Mrs.
J. L. Case, Don and Judy, Mrs.
Jack West, Alice, Shirley, Mar-
garet and Jimmy, Mr. and Mrs.
Cecil Culver, Jr., Pam, Bill and
Cecilia, Louise Terbush, Kathleen
Clark, Sandra Clark, Bonnie Ter-
bush, Stanley Clark and the lead-
ers, Glynda Harrell, Ellen Latta,
and Mrs. George Latta.

NEW SAFETY RECORD
Employees of the Southwestern
Public Service Company have es-
tablished a new all-company safe-
ty record of working 3,020,404
man-hours without a lost-time ac-
cident, it has been reported by A.
R. Watson, executive vice presi-
dent and general manager of the
electric light and power company.
The new record exceeded the
old company standard of 3,019,075
man-hours, set in 1954.
Southwestern Public Service
Co., employees have not had a
disabling injury this year, the cur-
rent accident-free period getting
underway on Nov. 3 of last year.
