Slop Rapping And Starl Clapping
A noisy minority seems to feel that anything American :
is wrong. They condemn continually, and demand sweeping
changes. <
It has been said, “The worst way to improve the world
is to condemn it.” It might be well for ALL OF US to
remember this when we are tempted to criticize our country,
our company, and our friends.
Here at Curtiss, every one of us is sharing in the bene
fits that have been produced through the American economic
system. For example, no one can force us to continue to
work at our present job or force us to take another. We, in
America, are truly free men and women—and our freedoms
are protected by the oldest written Constitution in the world
with its hard-earned Bill of Rights.
1948 is a very fine time for every one of us to STOP
RAPPING AND START CLAPPING FOR THE AMERICAN
WAY OF LIFE!
Please understand that we are not suggesting cheap
sentimentalism. We have only contempt for those who do
nothing but talk, and then let millions of others shoulder the
burdens. We are suggesting a practical and genuine
Patriotism. “Patriotism,” says the dictionaiy, is
country; a devotion to its welfare.
Patriotism, as we think of it, is a wholesome respect for
the laws of the land, and unfailing loyalty to our American
ideals it is the same kind of loyalty that we give.to ou
loved ones-the type of loyalty that huilds.greatindustris
and thus produces thousands of jobs. It is thekind.o!1oya
ty that built the Curtiss Candy Company and that it must
continue to have to pay us our salaries and meet its oblig
tions to its customers.
at commending. We must be tireless in our efforts to
destroy the falsehoods that are being told about everything
American These falsehoods are designed to create doubt
and confusion regarding the value of our American country
government. We MUST see that every one in the country
Sets the truth about America. A halfway job will not do
It must be given to them clearly, completely, and constant y.
LET’S STOP RAPPING AND START CLAPPING FOR
THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE!

pany, was sent us by our friend H. C. Hopkins.)-------------------
