a group discussion on Mental
Health when the Woman’s Club
met at the City Hall clubroom
Wednesday.
Mrs. Fred Ebeling was in charge
of the program. Mrs. T. W. God-
frey, president, presided at the
business session during which it
was reported that response to the
club library booth at the county
fair has been so great it will be
necessary to build additional shelv-
es in the library.
Hostesses were Mrs. Claude Bran-
don, Sr. and Mrs. Carter Snooks.
Cake and coffee were served by
Mrs. Day and Mrs. Godfrey to the
17 members present from a table
centered with an arrangement of
orange flowers in a black pot,
offset by a miniature witch.
Presbyterians Led
In Bible Study
By Mrs. Borglund
Refugio.—Mrs. W. H. Borglund
led Bible study when the Women
of the Presbyterian Church held
their regular monthly luncheon at
the church recreation room Mon-
day.
Mrs. Borglund’s topic was “Mir-
rors of the Soul,” taken from
Psalms 7. Mrs. Victor Lawson also
discussed the subject, ‘My Church.’
Presiding for business was Mrs.
W. T. Doughty, president. Seven-
teen members attended.

brought the devotional and closing
prayer was given by Mrs. Miller.
Mrs. Cena Morgan sang a solo,
“This Is My Father’s World.” Mrs.
Ryals served refreshments to five
members and two guests, Mrs.
Miller and Mrs. Morgan.
Next meeting of the circle will
be held November 9 at 9:30 a.m.
at the home of Mrs. Hardy.
Refugio.—Mrs. M. N. Davis was
hostess to the Naomi Circle of the
WSCS of the Methodist Church
when the group met at her home
Monday morning.
Mrs. John L. Black presided for
business and the treasurers report
was read by Mrs. Graves Toland.
Lesson study was given by Mrs.
W. S. Highsmith who discussed
“Shadows are Frontiers” from the
book, “Wherever the Sun.” Open-
ing prayer was given by Mrs. R.
L. Rymal and the devotional
brought by Mrs. E. W. Wehring.
The meeting was closed with uni-
son repitition of the Mizpah bene-
diction.
Twelve members and one visitor,
Mrs. T. W. Cunningham, were pres-
ent. Next meeting of the circle will
be held at the home of Mrs. N. H.
Goforth November 9, at 9:30 a.m.

WSCS of the Methodist Church met
Monday afternoon at the home of
Mrs. A. L. Pate.
Lesson study, the last chapter
of the book, “That the World May
Know,” was in charge of Mrs. E.
G. Fisher. Opening prayer was
given by Mrs. Chad Shock and the
meeting was closed with prayer
in unison. Mrs. L. W. Wilpitz gave
the devotional.
The hostess served refreshments
to the seven members attending.
Hostess for the next meeting, to
be held November 9 at 2:45 p.m.,
will be Mrs. Shock.

was hostess to the Mary Martha
Circle of the Methodist Church
WSCS at her home Monday after-
noon.
Opening prayer was given by
Mrs. H. A. Miller and closing pray-
er by Mrs. C. A. Pitzer. The host-
ess brought the devotional, taken
from “The Upper Room,” entitled
“Christian Witnesses,” with scrip-
ture reading from I John.
The Bible study, “The Unchang-
ing Mission,” was from the last
chapter of “Life and Tasks of the
Church Around the World” and led
by Mrs. Pitzer and Mrs. Miller.
Refreshments were served to 7
members and the two guests, Mrs.
Miller and Mrs. Gerald T. Bis-
sett.
