years. Younger children can re-
produce only regular tappings
or drum beats.
Q. Is color blindness inherited?
A. Yes, in most cases. The de-
fect seems to be passed along
from the mother to male chil-
dren. About 5 per cent of all
males are "color blind,” usually
to red and green. Complete
color blindness in which the
person sees everything in shades
of white to black ia very rare.

BRADY—The Brady Standard
and Herald are moving to a new
office—for the first time in al-
most 50 years.
L. B. Smith and C. D. Reed,
owners of the weekly newspapers,
have bought a corner brick build-
ing at South Bridge and First
Streets, a block off the plaza,
and the newspaper equipment
will be moved there the first
week end after Christmas.
The Standard has occupied its 1
present building on the north
side of the plaza since the paper i
was established in 1909 by the
late John E. Cooke. It was con-
solidated with Harry Schwenker's
Brady Enterprise and McCulloch
County Star in 1010, and Schwenk-
er became sole owner in 1911.!
They published the paper until i
retiring in 1946.

through Missouri, across the Ohio
Valley and into lower Michigan.
_ The fog, which is expected to
last until mid-morning in some
areas, made driving hazardous
throughout the region.
A disturbance along the Pacific
Coast dumped rain over much of
the western third of the nation
during the night and brought snow
to the higher elevations of the
Rockies.
Storm warnings were raised
along the Washington and Oregon
coasts Sunday as winds up to 50
miles per hour kicked up rough
seas in the Pacific.
Light showers hit the eastern
third of the nation during the
night, occurring from northern
Georgia into the lower Great
Lakes and east to New England.
The rain changed to light snow
innorthern New England.
Overnight readings ranged from
the 20s in the northern plains and
New England to the 30s from the
central plains to the mid-Atlantie
states and the 40s and 50s from
Texas through the Gulf states.

Q. Is the "milk-on-the-wrist"
method a good way to test the
temperature of a baby’s formu-
la?
A. No, but lots of mothers use
this method. To feel the warmth
of the milk on the wrist the
temperature of the liquid would
have to be at least 120 deg. F.
This is about 22 degrees hotter
than milk nature provides for
the breast-fed baby.
Q. At what age should a child
start taking music lessons?
A. It would probably depend
on musical talent more than
anything else. In general, the
average child cannot follor or
reproduce complicated rhythm

WASHINGTON — Rep Kenneth
B Keating (R-N.Y.), urging a new
wiretap law to permit lapping by
authorized FBI and state agents
and use of wiretap evidence in
federal courts in national security
cases:
“It is time we brought out wire-
tap laws up to date so that our
law enforcement officials can ef-
fectively combat criminals and
subversives now operating under
the shield of the present statute.”
NEW YORK — Mayor Robert F.
Wagner in a special radio and tel-
evision broadcast on the subway
strike:
—“It is the strike of a group
which has submitted its case to
an impartial board and now seeks
to use economic force to compel
the city and the Transit Authority
to overrule the board’s decision.
The city of New York cannot, and
will not, permit itself to be black-
