Sophomore Tom Frank, Waco,

boy to keep an eye on in the 440

but is needed in the quarter be-

Border Olympics tomorrow. Stad-
er is one of the most promising
men on the team. It is hoped he
will give added depth in the dis-
tance races for SEU.
It is hoped that junior Fred
Galus, Chicago, Illinois, can re-
lieve some of the pressure on
Culotta. Fred is concentrating on
the javelin now and will go to the
Border Olympics.
The only other man going to
the Border Olympics is Jack Hof-
stetter, Houston, Texas. Jack will
run the 220 and the 440 yard
dashes. He may also be called on

Plenty of depth in the distances,
promising boys in the field events
but not too much help in the
sprints, this is the way things
look as another track season for
St. Edward’s begins. The thin-
clads begin the season at Laredo
at the Border Olympics. Missing
from this year's team because of
graduation is the fast-stepping
sprinter and holder of the school
record for the 440, Ron Wallace,
and the record holder of the
javelin, Leo Bourgeois. Also miss-
ing from the team, because of
transferral, are 440 men Roy
Brown and Bernard Johnson and
miler Tom McCuscer.
The only senior on the team is
Dominic Culotta, New Orleans,
Louisiana. Dominic has lettered
all of his previous three years.
He holds down such field events
as the discus, shot-put, and the
javelin. He holds the conference
record in the discus. Culotta will
also run a leg in the 440 relay.
