Goldthwaite Garden Club will
sponsor a "Yuletide Lighting”
contest this Christmas season,
the first I seven years
When you light up the outside
of your home for the holidays,
you warm the hearts of hun-
dreds of people you’ve never met
and probably never will. As
families take their annual town
-and-country-wide tours to see
the lights, you are flashing good
cheer to friend and stranger
alike—and that is the true spirit
of Christmas.
Here and there, entire neigh-
borhoods join in united effort
to greet townspeople, as well as
folks from afar, by sprinkling
the nights with gay color Your
own home can express the sen-
timent of your family in an in-
dividual way, and bring a deep
tingle of joy to all who come to

RIGHT TRIM ADDS
“STYLE FLARE"
The right kind and amount of
trimming adds interest and in-
dividuality to a costume. Too
much can be distracting and
confusing.
The secret of effectiveness in
trimming lies in discriminating
use Self-covered buttons and
belts, or those that blend with
the garment, can be used with-
out danger of a spotty or over-
decorated effect. Self trim of
this type becomes a part of the
design of the garment and gives
more leeway in choosing other
accessories.
If you plan for contrasting
trim, study your figure carefully
to determine where to place the
emphasis In other words, “ac-
centuate the positive." Make
certain the trim is appropriate
to the garment and the occasion
for which it will be worn.
Shop for Ideas that are dif-
ferent Study garments display-
ed in exclusive dress shops and
adapt ideas to your own purse
and personality.
A final word . When in
doubt, leave that estra trim
off it's better to use too
little than too much
