Councilman
Seeks Help
For Builder
While he was “not criticizing
the work." Councilman Mack
McCarty told city council Tues-
day the new fire truck should be
completed as soon as possible.
Seaborne Jones, superintendent
of the city shop, has been work-
ing on the truck “for three or
four months," building the body
“by hand," said City Manager
John Clary.
Extra help should be assigned
Jones for regular work, allow-
ing the superintendent more
time for the completion
of the truck, said Councilman
Charles Parker.
Jones is building the body to
fit a storage tank bought by
city last summer. Jones' work
will save city several thousand
dollars, avoiding the purchase
of a new truck for the tank,
said Clary.
