Dear Heloise:
Christmas tree last year, we
found the container had leak-
ed. and left a big white stain on
our hardwood floor.
My husband took my iron and
a fine piece of doth (percale)
and went to work immediately.
He laid the doth on the spot
and just ironed with a medium-
warm iron iwool setting!. Pres-

LETTER OF LAUGHTER
Dear Heloise?
Age and arthritis have slow-
ed my activity considerably, but
I still have the appetite of a
teen-ager!
My doctor wanted me to lose'
30 pounds. He suggested that I
wear a very tight girdle around
the house all day long. . ..
My capacity for food has all
but disappeared, and I am learn-
natured alcohol diluted half and
half with water. However, cau-
tion must be used in working
with the alcohol to avoid cut-1
ting the shellac coating and ruin-
ing it."

WITHHOLD MY NAME
DEAR WITHHOLD: We are
all "ignorant" on different
subjects. Anyone who would
criticize a welt-meaning hos-
less who has done her best to
entertain her guests is, in my
opinion, more guilty of ignor-
ance than the hostess.
