olive green slipper-length gowns
ot velveteen and saki. The em-
pire-styled dresses were detailed
with a matching velveteen bow,
bateau neckline, and wrist-length
sleeves. Matching velveteen bows
formed their headdresses, and
their bouquets were of golden
mums with green accents.. '
Miss Martha Dear of Mineola
was the flower girl. She wore a
velveteen slipper-length gown
with matching bow headdress.

best man. Groomsmen and ush-

greenery and bearing white ta-

After a wedding trip to Carls-
bad, New Mexico, and Juarez,
Mexico, the couple will reside at

accessories and an orchid cor-
sage.

Classes Resume
At Local Schools
Mineola schools will re-open
Thursday. Jan. 2, following a two-
week Christmas vacation.
Regular class schedules will be
followed on Thursday and Friday,
with’ meals being served in the
cafeterias (menus are printed
elsewhere in this issue) and bus-
sea to follow their regular routes.
This is scheduled, of course,
with a forecast of nq snow, sleet,
freezing rain or ice which would
prevent bus routes ftom being
run — though some students may
be hoping. ...

music was furnished by Mrs.
Charles Puckett, organist, and by
Mrs. Jesse Jones, wno sang "One ,
Hand, One Heart" and "The ,
Wedding Prayer.”
A fan-shaped arrangement of
white gladioli and chrysanthe-
mums atop a central gold column
served as the focal point for the '
nuptial setting. Lower columns,
each bearing a similar floral ar-
rangement, and candle trees and
gold candelabra completed the
decor.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a formal A-
line gown of ivory chiffon taffeta.
Alencon lace defined the lines of
the gown, which featured a scoop
neckline and elbow - length
sleeves; and lace re-embroidered •
with pearls and crystals banded ,
the skirt. The detachable court
train, framed with lace, unfolded
from the back and fell to chapel
length. Her vel.l of silk illusion ,
fell in tiera from a crown of ,
matching lace.
The bride carried a bouquet of
white carnations, atephanotis aad
