Congratulations to Debbie
Baker. We have all recog-
nised that Debbie is an out-
standing person due to her
accomplishments in high
school and in community ac-
tivities. But now she is Texas
Pecan Queen and that brings a
lot of honor and prestige not
only to Debbie but to her
home town and school. We’re
right proud of her.

Mr. Benton, it is an appro-
priate time to honor both oc-
casions, Mrs. Benton said this
week.
The Benton Museum has
been more than doubled to
floor space and many things
added to it. The additional
room is larger than the first
museum and the added
museum pieces make it more
interesting than ever.
Mrs. Benton is requesting
each person whose descen-
dants were pioneers of Mont-
ague County to send the name,
of the pioneers to her so that
all these pioneer names may
be placed on a scroll to hang
in the new museum. She feels
that these names will be a
valuable addition to the mus-
eum. She requests that the'
descendants of pioneers send
the names in quickly.
Mrs. Benton said that the
museum has attracted wide-
spread attention and that they
have had visitors from almost
every state in the union as well’
as some foreign countries.
