The wreck was caused from

dagine. The train was com-
spsed of 86 cars and was
going south. Conductor W. A.
Smith was in charge No one

material damage was caused.
The tonnage was mostly wheat
gravel and cotton with a few cars
of mixed stuff.
The stuff in those cars that
Were wrecked was all dumped
out on the ground and some of
the cars smashed to pieces.
Numerous small articles, such
as boxes of shoe polish, shaving
mugs, dress patterns, saddle
blankets, etc., had to be hauled
away in wagons.
11 was necessary for the early
morning south bound passenger
train to detour by way of Bren-
ham, making it several hours
late. The north bound passenger
due in Sealy at 10:30 was held
over until 1:00 o’clock before the
wreck could be cleared away
sufficiently for it to get by.
The wrecking crew arrived
from Smithville about 8 o’clock
and nearly everybody in Sealy
visited the scene of the smashup
and watched the work of clearing
the track for hours.

SATURDAY
“LITTLE MARY SUNSHINE”
Pathe Feature in 5 Parts. Special Program for
the Children.
The Sealy News Diamond Ring Contest opened last Saturday
with a rush. A number of young ladies started to work, in dead
earnest to win the three valuable prizes offered. When the contest
has run six weeks "one of these young ladies is going to find herself
in possession of a diamond ring that most anyone would like to
own. One of the other ladies will receive a diamond lavaliere for
her efforts and still another will win a wrist watch. The News will
endeavor to satisfy, with something else, those who are not so
fortunate as"to-win one of these prizes.
The News is greatly pleased with the contestants who have
entered this race and we are sure that six more popular young
ladies could not be found. They are so generally liked that many N
people will not know just who to assist. In cases of this kind sup-
port will probably go to the first young lady who solicits it.
All readers of the News who are not subscribers but are in the
habit of borrowing the paper from a neighbor or picking it up in
some store and reading it should take this opportunity of sub-
scribing and helping some young lady win a prize. Just because
your neighbor is accomodating enough to let you have his paper is
no sign that he likes to be continually imposed upon in this way.
Jar loose from a dollar and a half and pick out one of the follow-
ing young ladies to give your 250 votes that go with a.year’s sub-
scription:
