Cotton Dnmaged at Hillsboro.
Hilksboro, Texas, Oct. l.—<Special.)-
Fire supposed, to have started from
sparks from a railroad engine seriously
damaged six carloads of cotton at the
Missouri, Kansas & Texas depot here
Sunday. The cotton had been shipped
to the compress here from Itasca. One
carload was thrown out by the firemhen
and the tire extingyished by the use of
the hose, and the balance was hauled
to the railroad lake, north of town,
and dumped into the water, where it
was left. The damage is estimated at
between 1750 and 11,000.
