Believing that the two interests of
more factories and a seminary are
-both vital to the we fare of Fort Worth
and that one should not stand in the
way of the other, the committee of lo-
cal Baptists which is endsavoring to
bring to this city the Southwestern
Baptist Theological seminary assem-
bled last night and immediately ad-
'Spurned in order to attend the mass
meeting of business men ib th® inter-
est of more industrial enterprises.
The committee will meet at the First
Baptist church tonight at 8 o’clock to
carry forward its work, and all per-
sons in tbs city who are interested in
the matter are invited to meet with
the committee at that time. The yield-
ing to the mass meeting in behalf of
more industries in the city does not
indicate that there is a lack of in-
terest in the seminary proposition. It
rather signifies that the work has as-
sumed such a shape that it could lend
itself to another good movement for
Fort Worth without losing what van-
tage ground it had already gained The
work for the seminary is progressing
nicely and the encouragement whien
the promoters of the campaign are re-
ceiving is very satisfactory* indeed
The situation is such, however, as
requires the efforts of all the com.
mitteemen, and all of them are urged
to be present at the meeting tonight.
Some of the very strong arguments in
favor of securing the seminary which
have been largely overlooked by the
popular conception of the problem are
the Influence which the very strong
men of the faculty would bring to this
city and the fact that the seminary
is destined to be the largest, and.most
powerful institution of the Baptists of
