Mrs. Katherine Lockhart, aged 83
years, died taut night at the home of
her daughter, Mre. Emma Skelton, 334
Junius street, after an ilIness of sev-
< ral week. Mrs. Lockhart was born
in Georgia in 1X28 and had resided in
Dallas for the past sixteen years. Her
husband died in Alabama several years
ago. Rhe is survived by two daughters.
Mrs. Skelton and Mrs. Dagenhart, both
of whom re side in Dallas, and three
sons who are in business in. North
Texas. The funeral was conducted
from Mrs. Skelton's home on Junius
street, this afternoon. Services were

Death Has Heavy Harvest Among Aged
Ballas Citizenm.
Dallas, March 24—(Special.)—Mrr
O. A. Gilliam, aged 53 years, and for
twenty-eight years a resident of Dal-
las, died at her home, at Gilliam street
and Kwing avenue, today from apo-
plexy. Mrs. Gilliam whs born in VIr-
ginra Aug. 15, 1X43. She is survived
by a husband and six children, ail of
whom reside in Dallas.
J. J. Dean, aged 60 years, died sud-
denly of heart failure at the city hos-
pital last night. He was an ex-Con-
federate soldier and a member of Ster-
ling Price camp. He had resided in
Daitas only a few morrths. The fur

preparations for the Methodist Educa-
tional convention to be held in Dallas
April 10, 11 and 12 are well advanced.
Those having arrangements in charge
predict the largest attendance the de-
nomination has yet had In ita educa-
tional efforts. A letter, of which the
following is a copy. is being mailed to
the Methodists all over the state:
Dallas, Texas, March 20, 1906.—-Dear
Brother: We ere gratified to learn that
you have been appt inted a delegate to
the Texas Methodist Educational Con-
vention to be held in this city April
10-12, 1206.
Everything points to a great occa-
sion. The Methodist clans from all over
Texas will assemble in great numbers;
700 Methodist preachers are ex-Officio
members of the convention, while 3,000
representative picked laymen have
been appointed as delegates.
The programme is full to the brim
with practical and inspiring subjects,
to be discussed by some of the ablest
writers and most eloquent speakers of
Southern Methodism, as bishops, lead-
ing educators and distinguished minis-
ters and laymen. It will be the treat
of a lifetime—intellectual and spiritual.
