As to the idantty af tha naw ra-

statement that "we are dealing with
people who want to build the line and
have the means." That Suderman &

with the new movement is not denied,
however.
We are now dealing with people
who have got the money to build the

met ?n Fort Worth yesterday and“ty:
Kether with Stuart Harrison discussed
the form of a new subscription blank.
It is understood that an agreement
waa reached and that the new Tarrant
has escaped the general advance
through anticipation of a huge business
in 1908 and the purchase of a large
-supply of barley malt last year at tne
then prevgiling prices, the consequence
being that the prohibition activity and
saloon limit ordinance of the city has
reduced the business and left the com-
pany well suppied with malt to last it
well into the summer. As the new
crop comes in early in September the
company feels well able to meet Ure
demand.
An officer of the company stated yes-
terday that he had been offered 20,000
would be excluded. And the ban has
evidently been applied and screwed
down tisht.
Stories have been going the rounds
for some time regarding the alleged
shortage of barley and the consequent
increase in the priee of beer. A care-
ful canvasa of the local situation de-
velops the fact that barley bus been
advanced in price! from 50 cents to
around 11.10 since lust fall, but puo-
tat ions received of late indicate a tail-
ing off in price.
The facia in the case seem to indi-
cate that it is not so much due to a
shortage in the barley crop as a cordial
understanding between elevator and
malt men that has caused the advance.
