It is hard to convince them that it Is
wrong, even when the law says so, to

Roughly the difference was, humor-

that in Charleston drinking is "the ac-

There is Indeed much in the point of
view. The Puritans, be It recalled,
deemed it a vice to kiss one's wife on
a Runday and many the reprobates who
took more delight in kissing his spouse
en that day than any other—because
it was forbidden and frowned upon.
The farce of the dispensary law in
Charleston ought to be ended. It is
having a bad effect upon the sentment
for law as a whole in that city. It Is
breeding flagrant violation of the law
against gambling. It is perhaps, re-
sponsible for the fact that cigar slot
machines, which have been outlawed-
by the state legislature, run openly in
Charleston th cigar stores as well as
in other resorts where men congregate.

ta Hood’s Sarsaparilla effects 1U wonderful cures, not simply
because it contain* sarsaparilla, but because it combines the utmost
