and gave a verdtet this afternoon
which took cognizance of the death of
the men at the hands of parties un-
known. •
County Attorney Wimbush made a
etatement this afternoon in which he
h said that he had notice that the mob
was earning He met some of the men

strode in apparent leisure to the spot.
The crowd grew' larger and there was
little said. A big man in a slouch hat
soon appeared. “Glad to see you boys,"
he said. “Are you all ready
Mob Moves on Jail.
A suppressed cry was the only an-
swer. The men silently made their way
toward the jail. aTew blocks away
They had scarcely gone about the
attack when County Attorney Robert
Wimbish, who had received word that
the mob was forming, met them. The
crowd same to a stop at his request.
Attorney Wimbish said
"Men Of Ada, you are disgracing this
community in the eyes of the world.
Think this matter over calmiy and let
the law take its course. I appeal to
you as an officer of the law to return
to your homes."
The mob listened attentively, then
proceeded on Its* way. The •attorney
attempted again to talk to them.
“This is no time/fur spechas," said
the leader and the march w as resumed.
• The jail was poon reached. A high
.board fence surrounding it was thrown
down, and the crowd entered (he en-
closure. There was A whispered con-
versation, and then the tall man in the

and Joe Allen, alleged principal end
accomplices in the murder of A. L
sobbitt, a prominent man of Ada, Okla.,
and formerly United States deputy
marshal, were taken from the jail at
Ada before daylight this morning by
a mob and hanged in a barn across the
road from the jail. The mob worked
so quietly ami rapidly .that the people
of the town did not know what had
happened until daylight. The guards
at the jail were overpowered by the
mobeand the prisoners were secured
with little resistance. ’
When the ’ prisoners were seised by
the mob in the jail, they w'ere asked
and strung up just before the rope
was plsced about his neck. Miller calm-

Feb. 27 last. This feeling was Inten-

nephew's name is Oscar Feeler and his
youth alone sved him from the hands
