The Mysterious Dark Horse.
Events in certain Quarters denote al-
most clearly that the wind blows in a
certain direction, and that direction is
a ertain dark horse. , The friends of
the man who is later to be put into
the game are caucusing daily, but are
as mum as a clam bed when any
guesses are made as to who their can-
didate might be.
The laboring men of the city ar*
Elso sitting up and taking notice, also
whispering among themselves. A meet-
ing of the labor congress of the city
has been called "or Monday night at
the Labor Temple, the avowed object
of th* meeting to be politics, it is not
thought that they will bring out 'a

thing is entirely possible A candi-

Chairman Doyle of the city Demo-
cratic executive committee stated late
Friday afternoon that in his opinion
a strict, white Democratic primary
would be held, if the commisioners
called the date of electian as much as
thirty days after Mayor Williams’ res-
ignation is in.
If the primary is held it will be
about ten to fifteen days before the
data set for holding the election. It t*
believed that all of the candidates who
have so far announoed, will go into
Buch a primary if it is held. This
would give the candidates but two
short weeks in which to shake the
horny hand of the dear public while
whispering honeyed words.
Each day matter* grow more inter-
esting and the political pot promises to
he boiling in earnest by Monday night
or Tuesday morning.
