Johnson County Iris & Daylily Society
will host the 23rd Annual Iris Show and
their 2nd Iris Photo Contest on Saturday,
April 13. The event will take place at the
Cleburne Conference Center. The Iris Show
and Photo Contest are open to the public
and free to enter. All Iris and Photography
entries may be brought to the Conference
Center Saturday morning between 8:00
and 9:45. Photography entries may also be
brought on Friday evening between 3:00
and 8:00 p.m. Judging will take place
from 10:15 until Noon Saturday and the
show will open to the public for viewing
between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. Admission is
free. There will also be an Iris Boutique
with iris plants for sale as well as other iris/
garden related items. The Boutique will be
open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and will
be located in the adjacent room to the show.

Pat Culpepper graduated and was co-captain of the 1958 State
Semi-Final Football Team and center fielder on the 1959 Yellow Jacket
Semi-Final Baseball Team. He graduated from the University of Texas in
1963 with honors, Academic All-American, Co-captain of the 1962 Texas
Longhorns SWC Championship Football Team. He was the Earl Blaik
Scholar Athlete Award winner and elected to " the Longhorn Hall of Fame
in 1991
Pat has coached at the college level with University of Texas, Col-
orado, Tulane, Baylor and Memphis State and was head coach at North-
ern Illinois University; and coached in High School Football at Midland,
Lufkin, Galveston Ball, Westfield and Cleburne.
