adjustments, read now they
could save you money
Oil, Gas News:
must pass the increase on to its customers. But not
all of the increase. By regulation, Lone Star has been
forced to initially absorb 15% of it. * This is a serious
loss that must eventually be recovered if the company
is to have a fair return, to which it is entitled by law.
If it were not for the gas cost adjustments, your
city would be confronted with constant rate increases.
In that case, consumers would be facing the entire
increase in gas cost _
The gas cost adjustment also helps make sure
you’ll have enough gas in the future. Without it fu-——
ture supplies might haveto be bought on an "emergen-
cy” basis. And at much higher prices than today’s gas.
Remember this: Lone Star doesn’t makemore
profit because of gas cost adjustments. In the long __
run, we lose money—more than $17,015,450 in un-
recovered gas costs in 1975.**
As you can see, the spiraling cost of natural gas
is hurting all uf us. Tliat s why we’re doing everything
we can to hold it down.

Railroad Commission on July 1, 1975.
**Increased gas cost absorbed by company during 1975 as a
result of Texas Railroad Commission orders, Docket #453 and
Docket #588.

When you hear about a gas cost adjustment, you
know your gas bill is probably going up. So you’re
against it That’s understandable. But before you get
mad, think about this:
