THE FORT WORTH RECORD! TI ICR SPAY MORNING, MARCH
might have previously been stirred up
by any incidental opposition to State
Chairman Hunter occupying his posi-
tion as a federal office holder and that
of chairmom of the state committee,
practically took a vow to work for. a
Taft-instructed delegation, and they
have been working on that basis ever
since. Hence the favorable reports
from those counties since holding their
-. conventions.
It is claimed that there never was the
opposition to Taft that was reported.
It was opposition to Hunter more than
anything else, but when the latter,be-
came of such proportions, and the mat-
ter was becoming confused, the senti-
ment against Hunter was laid aside
and a personal sacrifice made in order
to make a clean path for Taft. What-
ever is to be done with Mr. Hunter will
probably be done the last thing before
the state convention adjourns. But
even then, the main object which lift''
