Dear Santa,
Love-Lorn Column
by Donna Isaacs
This week the Snoops have start-
ed a new love-lorn column. If any
one has any problems write to>
Aunt Myrtle, c/o Eagles Echo.
Dear Aunt Myrtle,
My problem is very simple:
have the most darling boyfriend.
He is tall, dark, handsome and a
wonderful dancer. But my family
objects to him because he is a
member of the Communist party
and has had several marriages and
no divorces. They also say he is
no good because he is a hired kill-
er for the Moffia. To top it off,
the other day in a friendly wrestl-
ing match, he mortally injured my
brother and my father has threat-
ened to blow up the Church if wo
go through with the wedding.
Oh, Aunt Myrtle — Help Me!!
Tell me the answer. I've worried
and thought and wondered and I
can't decide—
What color dress should Mother
wear to the wedding???
Answer: Do what ever you think
is best!!!!
I want a great big white '59
Chevy plus the gasoline to go with

SNOOPER
The show was full of RHS kids
Thursday night who saw the Hor-
ror of Dracula. Some of the cou-
ples were: Sue Banks and Leon
Booker, Gloria Mayes and Danny
Francis, Kenneth Lively and Lin-
da Watson.
A special thanks to all the clas-
ses for working so hard to fill thd
Christmas boxes for the needy.
One of RHS's ex-students. Gar-
land Marshall visited Bookkeep-
ing and Shorthand class Friday.
Every one was glad to see him.
We hear that Judy Mayes has
been receiving letters from Broad-
dus, Texas! Who are they from,
Judy?
Judy, we sure hope that the
snow melts enough so that H. L.
can make it home for Christmas!
It seems that Judy received news
that he was snowed in and might
not get to come in for the Christ-
mas holidays.
Patsy Jones and Bobby Elliott
are seen together quite often late-
ly! It seems that they make the
rounds Thursday night. They were
seen at Stover's, Quinton's and'
Sadler's.
Mary Nell Bobbitt received a
letter Thursday. It seems as tho-
ugh it made her very happy. Come
on Mary Nell, let the Snoops in on
who it was!
Patricia Echols where arc you
going during the Christmas holi-
days???? Could it be to Houston?
What for Patricia?
Theresa Miller was a happy lit-
tle girl, Friday because Kent was
supposed to come home Friday
night.
It seems as though there has
been quite a bit of swapping go-
ing on. Linda got Gary's ring! But
he got it back, but she has got it
around her neck now!
Terry Perkins who could b«
coming home pretty soon? Could
it be Jessie Smith from San An-
tonio??? I bet you can hardly
wait.
Patsy Hanvy was all smiles Fri-
day. Bubsie is coming home!
Robert Watson and Martha Co-
ker were seen together at dinner
Friday at the Swing-Inn.
Note found in typing room:
"Last night we went up to Mr.
Martins singing Christmas carols
and first we sang Jingle Bells then
White Christmas and so on. When
we got through he said he wanted
everybody there in his first peri-
od class to sing. He stood there a
few minutes laughing and wo
started singing the WEDDING
MARCH and he got so tickled he
had to sit down. He had on a pair
of blue jeans and he looked
sharp." Wonder who wrote this?
Merry Christmas to everyone

Herbert Osborne Residence Wins
1st Place In Decoration Contest
The Herbert Osborne residence
was awarded first prize in Rusk's
highly commended home decora-
tion contest. Judging was held,
Monday night.
The second prize went to the S.
L. R. Cartlidge residence, and
third place was won by the Rob-
ert von Doenhoff home.
Following were given honorable
mention: Morris Hassell, W. E.
Gabbert, Marvin Roten, Jewel
Coupland, Charlie Christopher,
James Pryor, Mrs. Theo Matthews
and Porter Mitchell.
Judges commended the town's
decorations generally, saying
choice of winners was very diffi-
cult in view of the excellence of,
the 18 entries.
They also noted that many o£
the homes in town that were not)
entered were potential prize win-
ners.
Judging was based on originali-
ty, center of interest and approp-
riateness.
Only slight margins separated
the winners and the honorable
mentions, the judges said, making
selection very difficult.
