The social event was held in the
hospitable home of Mrs. Grogan on
the Reklaw highway.
Served buffet the menu included
baked ham, an assortment of
pickles, olives, sweet and sour
green beans, asparagus casserole,
potato salad, congealed salad, cof-
fee, and the dessert featured angel
food cake and sherbet topped with
pastel green whipped cream. It
was centered with a green straw
and served in miniature flower
pots.
The home was attractively deco-
rated throughout with arrange-
ments of spring flowers. The serv-
ing table, covered with a pink
cloth, was centered with red tulips,
purple and white iris, red bud,
peach blooms and red camellias in
a milk glass container. The living
room mantel held an arrangement
of pink gladioli, red bud and rose
chrysanthemums. Other room ar-
rangements included rose chrysan-
themums, red bud and pink hya-
cinths, as well as King Alford daf-
fodils.
Mrs. Marvin Roten, member of
the Rusk Garden Club showed
slides of previous Flower Shows,
and various other beautiful flow-
ers and trees in and around the
city of Rusk.
Following this enjoyable portion
of the afternoon, Mrs. Jack Pinson,
Husk Garden Club member, in-
stalled new officers for the Daffo-
dil Club: president, Mrs. Raymond
Vermillion; vice president, Mrs.
El wood Birkelbach; secretary, Mrs.
Paul Cox; treasurer, Mrs. W. E.
Davis; reporter, Mrs. Metz Heald.
Present in addition to those al-
ready mentioned were Mesdames
Stanley Chapman, Sissie Griffin,
Henry Guenzel, Glenn Miller, Jack
Noonan, W. E. Gabbert, Morris
Hassell, Knox Ray, Dub Summers,
Bill Vining, and a guest, Mrs. Ear-
nest Rutland of Lufkin.
Members of the social commit-
tee were in charge of the arrange-
ments.

visited their daughter, Carol, a stu

wanda Hendrick, who is dramatics
teacher in Dallas school, and at-
tended her year play.
Miss Sue Madden of Pasadena
spent the week end with parents,
in the Bonner Park ad-
dition.
Sue Banks, Martha Coker and
Patricia Persons attended the Ag-
gie ball at AAM Saturday night,
returning home Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Wright and
children spent the week end vis-
iting their parents at Corsicana
and Trinidad.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Chapman
and Mike spent the week end at
Weatherford visiting Rev. and
Mrs. J. J. Wester. Mrs. Chapman
remained there for a longer visit
with her parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Decherd McCord
and Mary Helen of Austin were
Sunday visitors with his mother,
Mrs. M. E. McCord and their son,
Jimmy.
Mrs. Gene Barron of Tyler at-
tended funeral services for Mr. S.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Madden, who
