Mrs. Grace George of West
Shady Grove and son Cope of
Wharton were Sunday dinner
guests with Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Ezell.
Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Fondren
motored to Lufkin to carry
their son, Johnny, to meet
three of his college friends
from SFA. They left for Bed-
ford, Penn. to attend the Na-
tional Phi Delta Chapter Con-
vention, a national organization
for college men.
Mr. Dick Bowman and family
of Houston and Mrs. Marsalcte
Watson and children and Mary
Maud and baby of Oakland
were visitors over the week-
end with Mrs. Maud Bothwell.
Oliver Sexton had news Wed-
nesday that his brother at
Brownfield was killed. He left
immediately to go there.
Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hen-
dricks of Palestine were visi-
tors with Mrs. Nora Sanford
over the weekend.
Dr. Joe Holsomback and fam-
ily and Mrs. Nell Roach left
by plane on their vacation,
Wednesday. The first news
from them is they are in Hono-
lulu.
Mrs. Sam Benge is sick in a
Rusk hospital. We wish her a
speedy recovery.
Will Roach of Beaumont has
been visiting his mother and
sisters since Thursday.
Miss Cooky Roach is home
from Vidor. She visited in the
home of Aubrey Henderson.
Mrs. Fannie Henderson came
home with them. Mr. and Mrs.
Ben Yarbrough and Mrs. Chlora
Hill of Union Grove visited
with Mrs. Mattie Williams, Sat-
urday.
Mrs. Effie Gill is visiting
with her daughter Marie of
Dallas and son, Roy in Crosby.
Mrs. Minnie Conner attended
the singing convention in Rusk,
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Tid Newman
visited Mrs. Lola Belle Ball,
who is sick in a Jacksonville
hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Brittain
and boys of Dallas are spend-
ing the week on their farm
here.

Former Rusk
Residents to
Move Back
Rev. and Mrs. Clyde Wood-
ward plan to move back to
Rusk around the middle of
September. They have been at
Frankston the past year and a
half, where he is pastor of the
Methodist Church.
Rev. Woodward suffered a
stroke recently and has been
granted a sabbatical leave.
They will be at home on Bon-
ner Street in this city.

are pictured in the new Farm Bureau office
which will be opened formally from 10 to 2
Saturday.
Farm Bureau Open House On Saturday
Open house will he held at
the new Rusk Farm Bureau
office from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Saturday.
The county organization's 282
members and other friends
have been invited to attend.
They will be greeted by the
Farm Bureau board of direc-
tors; local agent, Grady Du-
pree; and secretary, Mrs. Thel-
ma Hendricks.
The new office is situated
near the traffic signal on U.S.
60 in Rusk.
Refreshments will be served
during open house hours.
The Rusk office plans to ob-
serve a five and one-half day
week schedule after its formal
opening.

TYLER—The Game and Fish
Commission is always interest-
ed in good relations between
sportsmen and landowners, ac-
cording to word received here
today from John M. Carlisle,
Director of Region Three. Dove
season opens at noon, Sept. 1,
and the enforcement of game
and fish laws in Cherokee
County is in the hands of Jack
Tisdale, and he hopes that in-
terested persons will call him
when game violations are not-
ed. His telephone number in
Rusk is MU 3-4755.

Senior High football games, an-
nounces Supt. Gerald Chapman.
"We still have some choice
locations left, and anyone can
make reservation for them by
catling Bill Braswell or my-
self," he said.
The nominal fee of $5.00 cov-
ers all home games for the Sen-
ior Eagles and Junior Eaglets
in Musick Stadium.
Rusk's first home game is
scheduled September 7th. The
Crockett Bulldogs will meet the
Eagles at 8 p.m. in Musick Sta-
dium.

ship Award List at Colorado
State College. Her scholarship

undergraduate college enroll-

Mrs. Foster is a 1959 gradu-
ate of Rusk High School, at-
tended Abilene Christian Col-
lege two years, and is now
working toward the B.A. in
