Rusk To Host Annual
Meeting Of Churches
The annual martins of the Cher-
okee County Association oí Bap-
tist Chinches is scheduled for
October 12 and 13 in this city
wi'iih the First Baptist Church seiz-
ing as hest for the event.
Convening time for two even-
ing sessions, Monday and Tues-
day is 7 p.m. Rev. Frank Den-
ton of Dallas will be lien to rep-
resent the State Convention, and
Rev. C. H. Haley, pastor of the
Alto First Baptist, is to deliver
the annual sermon.
At 10 a.m. Tuesday, the WMU
is to meet. That bedy will h-ar
two principal Kpeakens: Herbert
Coleman who will discuss the Cal-
ifomian Ciiisades held by Lay-
men of that state earlier this year;
and Dr. Bardford Curry who is
to talk abcut his work in the
Latin .American Crusade.
His wife, Mrs. Curry, is to of-
ficiate at installation ceremonies
before the meeting adjourns at
2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Off-
icers to be installed are: Mrs. L.
E. Martin of Jacksonville, presi-
dent; Mrs. Sonny Wallace of Alto,
¡secretary; Mrs. Carl Martin of
Jacksonville, treasurer; Mrs. Ear-
nest Taylor oí Jacksonville. OA
director; Mrs. Chas. Hammons

Mrs. Jim Ei-win of Alto, Com-
munity Missions director; Mrs.
IH. H. Parker of Jacksonville, Mis-

Messengers to the annual moet-
