Mrs. Talley, Social Committee
Chairman, gave a brief report on
plans for the Valentine Dinner,
which was calendared for Febru-
ary 12 at the Pincvicw Restaur-
ant to begin at 7:30 p.m.
The program entitled "Let's
Talk on the Radio and Over Tele-
vision' was presented by Mrs.
Buchanan and Miss Mayes.
Following adjournment Mrs.
Hall conducted a question and an-
swer period to prepare the mem-
bers of the newly-established sor-
ority for the sorority test to be
taken at the next regular meet-
ing on January 25. It was annou-
nced that a study session would
be held on Tuesday night, Janur-
ary 18 at the home of the Presi-
dent.
The hostesses .Mrs. Irwin and
Mrs. Johnson, served delicious
refreshments of lemon pie, gra-
ham crackers, and Cokes to the
members present.

The Rusk Kiwanis Club met
Tuesday noon for its weekly lun-
cheon meeting with president
Jim Perkins presiding.
Program Chairman W. W. Fin-
ley introduced the meeting's gu-
est speaker, Roy Ginn of this city.
His topic was "Pearls of Great
Price". His inspirational mess-
age was tied, or linked with cho-
ice selections of Bible verse, wh-
ich he used to illustrate the out-
standing traits or characteristics,
most desirable in the Good Life.
Sixteen Kiwanis members were
present, also five guests, who
were J. M. Boone, Frank Sales,
Clyde Weaver, Kenneth Acker and
Dr. Chas. W. Castner of Tyler.

The Women Society of Christ-
ian Service of First Methodist Ch-
urch met Tuesday morning at
9:30 in the Church Parlor.
The meeting was opened with
song and prayer. After comple-
tion of business, the devotional
was given by Mrs. W. L. Knapp.
Mrs. W. W. Finley discussed the
Goals of the WSCS.
Plans were talked on the mem-
bership drive. Mmes. Howard
Pratt and Finley will serve on
this committee.

Claude Chisum, Alex Black, Ter-
rell Fisher, Knapp, Bill Shattuck,
Pratt, Charles Linney, and H.
Ware, a visitor from St. James
