HEAD START PROORAM-The Rusk ftill-year Head Start Day
Care Center opened Monday and Tuesday with 27 children. Ap-
plications are still being taken. Maxine Session is serving
«as teacher with aides Mary Christopher and Juanita Smith.
To enter children in the Center call 683-5582 from 7:30
a.m. to 5:30 p^n. and nights call 683-5743.
Miss Helen Belgard, bride-
elect of Robert Kirk of Rusk,
was honored with a miscella-
neous bridal shower Friday
evening, August 8th at the
home of Mrs, Jack Shuptrlne.
Miss Belgard is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs, Harry
Belgard ofDeville,Louisiana,
and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kirk
of Rusk are parents of the
groom.
Hostesses for the bridal fete
were Mesdames Phil Harris,
Rex Harrell, A. C. Teer,
Lloyd Collins, I acey Wilcox,
Pete Shuptrlne, Max Owens,
Jack Shuptrine, and Miss
Mary Jane Hugghins.
The serving table was
cdVerÉJ with a white lace
cloth. The table decor car.
ried out the bride's chosen
colors of yellow and green.
The centerpiece was an ar-
rangement of yellow roses.
Punch was served from a
green crystal punch bowl by
Miss Hugghins. Mrs. Wilcox
served the decorative cake
squares trimmed with tiny
yellow sugar-spun roses.
Miss Sondra Kirk, sister of
the prospective groom, regi-
stered the guest.
The many lovely gifts were
displayed in the Shuptrlne
home and viewed by guests
during the appointed hours of
8}00 to 10;00 p.m.
Miss Belgard and Mr. Kirk
were to be married August
16th.
