This chart shows why your electric bills are considerably higher in Decem-
ber than in June. The average use of electric lights in a residence, in
December is the heaviest of the year; in December the average use is nearly
7 hours a day, whereas in June the average is only 2 hours 35 minutes.
From June to January the daylight hours decrease, and the electric light-
ing hours grow. In January the daylight hours grow and the electric
lighting hours decrease, and this condition continues from month to month
until we again reach the balmy days of June.
