Former Rusk Resident Dies In Houston
Jimmie Session, 56, of Ho-
uston, died Thursday, June 1st
in a Houston hospital after a
short illness. Mr. Session
was a former resident of the
Rusk area.
Services for Mr. Session
were held Sunday at 2 p.m.
in the Woodville C.M.E. Ch-
urch near Rusk where he was
a former member with Rev.
L.T, Burleson officiating. Bu
rial was in the Session Cem
etery under direction ofMer
cy Funeral Home. Mr. Ses-
sion had lived in Houston sin
ce 1954 after moving there
from the Woodville commun
ity. He was a member of
the Mt. Rose Baptist Church
of Houston at the time of his
death.
Survivors include his wife,
Mr. Mary Ollie Session, Ho.
uston; a son, Larry Session,
Houston; his father. Bell Ses-
sion, Rusk; three brothers,
Troy Session and Etter Ses-
sion, Houston, and Chester
Session, Rusk; four sisters,
Mrs. Leader Mae Turner,
Rusk, Mrs. Janet Session, Ho-
uston, Mrs. Viola Gleen, Bro.
nz, N.Y., and Mrs. Cora Car-
ter, Beaumont; two step-sons
and 13 grandchildren.
Masons served as pallbear-
ers.
Isaacs Of Rusk Wins Toummeit
Isaacs of Rusk won the Pony
League Baseball tournament
which was held here last week.
In the final game of the to-
urnament Saturday evening,
Isaacs defeated Mack's Bait
and Tackle by a score of II
to 5 for the Championship
trophy.
Steve Pate was the winning
pitcher for Isaacs. Pitching
for the Mack's Bait andTackle
te.im were Ricky Hassell and
Jack Ball.
The consolation trophy went
to Orapeland when they def-
eated Alto 10 to 2.
In earlier tournament games
Mack's Bait and Tackle down,
ed Alto 12 to 2; Slocum beat
Grapeland 10 to 9; and Isaacs
defeated Sloctim 11 to 2. Elk-
hart was entered In the to-
urnament but failed to appear
for their games.' .

The Afternoon Circle of the
Women of First Presbyterian
Church met for their regular
meeting Monday with Miss
Beaulah Allen at her lake
house on Stryker Lake.
Mrs. Allen Holley gave the
devotional taken from the 28th
Chapter of Isaiah.
Members attending were
Mrs. Lois Henry, Mrs. Ch-
arlie Marshall, Mrs, Hol-
ley. Mrs. Vernon Hester,
Mrs. Egbert Cope land. Miss
Playe Black and Miss Allen.
Guests were Mrs. G.H. Tho-
mas, Mrs. J.E. Wallace,
Mrs. Vernle Minter, Mrs.
Guy Gulnn, Mrs. Minton Mo-
seley, Mrs. Edgar Banks,
Mrs. Pope Kenley of Lufkln
and Master Tim Sessions of
Woodville, Mississippi.
A covered dish lunch was
served at Noon.

idge luncheon party at her
home last Friday afternoon.

won high at bridge and Mrs.
Chisum won slam prize.
Refreshments of chicken
salad, olives, pickles, poppy-
seed cheese bits, crackers,
blueberry squares, iced tea,
coffee and cold drinks were
served.
